TAG Heuer decided to launch its first participatory event, which will be available online. The goal? to collectively choose the historic Autavia model to be reissued in 2017.

This is quite original project, something that have never been organized by watchmakers before. You can see it as democratic election, designed to bring opinion from buyers and fans closer to the company.

On Thursday 17th March 2016, the first day of the BASELWORLD international trade fair, TAG Heuer will launch a major online operation, “THE AUTAVIA CUP”, the aim of which is to choose the historic Autavia model to be reissued in 2017.

What do you think? Which is your favourite? TAG Heuer will be asking all fans of the brand to choose THEIR OWN favourite historic Autavia model from a selection of 16 watches that represent the first generation of Autavias produced by the company in the 1960s. All those photo in the article display you possible options, which will be offered on the elections.

The principle is simple: the first round takes place on the dedicated website, autaviacup.com: have a look at the side-by-side pairs of photos showing the 16 watches and vote online before 31st March 2016 for your favourite in each pair. The second online round will follow, to determine the 4 finalists before 14th April, the operation deadline.
Принцип прост: первый раунд пройдёт на специальном сайте – autaviacup.com, там вы найдёте фото 16 вариантов и сможете проголосовать до 31 марта за лучший вариант из каждой пары. Второй тур проведут для того, чтобы определить 4 финалиство перед 14 апреля.
On Monday 18th April 2016, a TAG Heuer internal Products Committee led by Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of TAG Heuer and President of the LVMH Group Watch Division – himself a watch collector – will reveal online the watch chosen from among the 4 finalists as the one to be reissued and presented at Baselworld in 2017.
В понедельник, 18 апреля, TAG Heuer объявит выбранный вариант из 4 финальных версий, который будет перевыпущен и показан на Baselworld в 2017 году.
Overall this idea looks like nice initiative from TAG Heuer, which will give a chance for fans to be closer to their favorite watchmaker. On the photos you can see all available versions of the watch, but remember that only one of those will be chosen in the end. Even though design looks as finished in the same way, there are still some models that you would prefer over others. I am really curious, what will be the outcome of this event.
